Durex launches condom delivery service in Dubai

The Middle East is a land of the most bizarre conveniences.

No, really: there, you can find stuff like a vending machine that spits out gold, or the Pizza Hut pie ringed with mini cheeseburgers.

Though what if you're on a date, say, and you've had your cheeseburger pizza and wooed her with a bit of gold?

You're back in your room and the moment's right but, ah, geez, your pockets are empty. What do you do?

If you're in Dubai, no longer is this a predicament.

According to Adage.com, condom maker Durex has launched a new smartphone app in Dubai that allows users to have prophylactics delivered right to their door.

SOS, the new condom delivery service, is surely the perfect marriage between technology and romance, a convenient way for couples in a jam to still safely get it on.

From 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., users can summon a condom delivery man, who will bring a handful of Durexes within the hour.

Such services aren't totally new -- to MSN's knowledge, condom delivery services exist on some college and university campuses in the U.S. -- but SOS comes with a twist.

How best to disguise your bumping uglies in Dubai, the ultra-conservative U.A.E. city-state?

SOS' got you covered. If you order condoms through the app, the delivery man comes dressed as a pizza boy, complete with box and everything.

So far SOS is being tested exclusively in Dubai, but Adage reports each new "like" on the brand's Facebook page might determine whether there's enough global interest to expand the service.
