Man puts on 70 pieces of clothing to avoid heavy baggage fee
Airline fees, it is no news to report, are getting absurd, although there’s no real way to talk about them without having it sound like an awful stand-up bit.
But then what else can we say? Not to sound like Jerry Seinfeld or anything, but the thing about airline fees is they’ll always be there, because for the most part they’re the only way airlines make money in their world of razor-thin margins. They need the mark-up.
Surely what other explanation could there have been after the recent news that Southwest would begin charging passengers a fee for … not showing up to their flights?
So under that premise, that airlines will gouge early and gouge often, it’s high time we salute a traveller that does his best to avoid paying.
According to a new report out of China, a would-be ingenious flyer has gone to ends rarely seen to avoid paying a baggage fee.

The unnamed man reportedly showed up to China’s Guanzhou Baiyun International Airport this week with a suitcase that was a bit too heavy.
Though instead of paying the extra baggage fee for his luggage being overweight, he simply unzipped his bag and started getting dressed.
By the story in the Examiner, the man ended up putting on some 70 items of clothing – more than 60 shirts and nine pairs of jeans – and went to board his flight to Nairobi.
And the S.O.B. almost got away with it. Despite looking decidedly sumo, he was only stopped from boarding when a metal detector found him. Apparently, in the haste of putting on 70 pieces of clothing, he forgot to take out gizmos like batteries and USB drives from his many pockets.

Why are you calling this man an S.O.B.? How vulgar and uncalled for. He's just trying to get by in the greedy grasping world of additional airline fees.
Other people will be carrying more body weight in the form of fat than the weight of his clothes.
Are you going to call them S.O.B.'s too?
